Our story
At Locks and Lashes, we believe that true beauty radiates from within, and our mission is to enhance it through a combination of premium services, exceptional talent, and genuine care. Founded in 2018 by Heidi Powell, a passionate and driven entrepreneur, our salon and spa has become a haven for those seeking quality beauty and wellness treatments in Albany, Oregon and beyond.
Heidi's journey into the world of beauty started years ago when she entered the industry as a receptionist at a respected day spa in Corvallis. From the very beginning, she found joy in witnessing the transformation that beauty services could bring to people's lives. As she interacted with clients and saw the positive impact on their confidence and happiness, Heidi's own passion for helping others blossom grew.
Driven by her desire to make a meaningful difference, Heidi embarked on an incredible adventure and decided to start her own local salon. As a true testament to her character and leadership, two of her three children followed in her footsteps. They now work alongside her as talented stylists and estheticians, ensuring that legacy of passion and expertise continues to flourish. With an unwavering determination and an innate eye for exceptional talent, she handpicked a team of the best hairstylists, estheticians, and wellness experts around. This team shares her vision and commitment to providing clients with outstanding service and a personalized beauty experience.

Hi my name is Sammy Baron, my favorite part of hair is the relaxation that comes with a good scalp massage, and also the final look. Nothing makes me feel better than a freshly styled cut or color having the hair look radiant. I have been doing hair nearly 15 years, I have two wonderful kids, a boy and girl! My lovely husband and I live in Albany.

Hey! I’m Ashley. I graduated from West Albany High School and went straight into beauty school at Johnny Matthew’s Cosmetology and Hairdressing School. I love doing colors, fun cuts, men’s cuts, Brazilian Blowouts, and waxing. I’ve wanted to do hair and esthetics since I was a little girl so it’s super fun getting to live that dream now! My favorite part of my job/hobby is getting to make others feel beautiful and better about themselves. I’m thrilled when I get to put a smile on other people’s faces. Oh yes... and my Saint Bernard is amazing!

I’m married to my amazing husband Alec and we have a sweet little girl “H” who keeps us on our toes. We have 2 fur babies Diesel & Buns. I enjoy cooking, hiking and learning all I can about essential oils.

Hi, my name is Kristen Olsen, and I moved to Oregon 12 years ago from California. I’m married, have four kids, two grandbabies and one on the way. I have been doing hair for over 20 years and love curly hair. It’s definitely been one of my specialties since I have been challenged with it my whole life. I know the struggles I went through trying to find a stylist and a style that would work for me.
I also love color and blow drys. I feel a blow dry is the signature of my work when a client leaves my chair .I have 3 dogs, a cat , and one llama. I tell people I have a little farm. They All keep me very busy and I love to work in my yard.

My favorite color to do is anything in the natural redhead range and I have a mini following of natural redheads that all recruit each other. My favorite product is Amika's The Wizard.
I'm married, have two kids, and a rescue corgi child. Manatees are my favorite animal. I love styling formal/wedding hair. I've been a vegetarian for ten years. I'm a Disney adult. I love my peloton and running. I also love Edward Scissorhands.

My name is Jenn and I have been a hairstylist and esthetician for about five years now. My main focus is any kind of hair color service, lived in color is my favorite, and haircuts! I mainly worked in the Corvallis area, but with my recent move to Albany in the last couple years, I decided to be a little closer to home and it was the best decision. I love this salon and all the women who work here.
A little bit about myself: I'm a single mom of two teens and when I'm not at the salon, I'm raising and spending as much time with them as I can! Summer is my favorite time of year and we love to be outdoors - hiking, camping, watching baseball, and spending time at the beach when we can. And when I can't be outside, I enjoy reading, watching movies, and puzzles!

I have over 21 years of combined experience in Healthcare, 16 of those years have been as a Registered Nurse.
My intrigue for the beauty industry began at a young age, as my grandma owned her own hair salon, where I would spend a lot of my time. While watching my grandma work, I gained knowledge and passion for the beauty industry. Throughout my Nursing career I longed for a work environment that promoted positivity and creativity. Through this need I discovered the incredible and unique field of Aesthetic Nursing, a career that combines my love for science, beauty, caring for others, positivity and creativity.
My nursing practice and skills are guided by safety, integrity, honesty, attention to details, and finding joy when making a difference in the lives of others. With you, I will carefully consider your goals for your personal aesthetic experience. Whether that be with a simple one-time treatment or a long-term journey to gain the overall results you want.
